I own the Companion, despite it having been reviewed pretty poorly on Amazon. To be honest I really haven't opened it yet. It seems rather large to be glorified glossary, the entries must be huge.

One of the reasons why I ranked Memory of Light so lowly in my rankings is because of the ending, and that it felt more like a Brandon Sanderson book than an RJ. Mistborn made me like reading Sanderson, and it also made me stop. He can't write an ending very well, it just feels like a landslide to finish all these dangling plotlines.

I just realized something and had to come back here to post this...

Are you telling me that you haven't read Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive books yet?
-The Way of Kings
-Words of Radiance

If not, I would highly suggest you start in. You know I loved the WOT books, obviously, and I rank these first two Stormlight Archive books right up there with WOT. So far so good...I've read them both twice now.
